I was born in a small town, the daughter of a teacher and a writer. I was
fortunate to have two loving parents who stood by me, loved me, and rebuilt me
more than once in my life.
My father, an educated man, ruled with a hand of iron and a heart of gold. My
mother, a talented writer, was always there for me, and taught me that behind
every dark storm cloud is a silver lining.
Both blessed with wonderful senses of humor, they taught me the importance of
having a sense of humor to weather life's storms. I have not always made the
right decisions in life, and have been married and divorced twice, but was
blessed with a son who I raised by myself. Even though times were difficult, I
wouldn't trade it for the world. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, but
the road of life is filled with twists and turns, and are to be divorced.
I share a part of my life with a man who I knew when we were young. Our story
makes me believe that fate played a hand in getting us together. We had not
seen each other since we were young, and as I started to dream about him, he
was overwhelmed with a feeling that something had happened to me. Today, after
meeting again, and getting to know one another, we are best friends, telling
each other everything; I admire his intelligence, his wisdom, his sense of
humor, and he has a loving heart. He was the inspiration for my book, In
Dreams. He travels a great deal, and so I share the other part of my life with
my other love; writing, and for us, the relationship works well.
From the time I was a little girl, I loved to read and to write, and have
always had stories floating around in my head; finding it difficult to
concentrate when others are talking, for thinking, what if . . . so when my
life took a frightening turn when I lost my sight in my right eye, after
surgery, and during recovery, I pursued my life-long love of writing.
