Born into a Michigan State Police family, his Law Enforcement interests began with the military as a US Army and US Air Force Policeman. With a short stint as a civilian Police Officer in Wisconsin, he took the next step, that being Investigations, as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) conducting investigations of felony crimes committed against the Air Force or by Air Force personnel. These investigations included major fraud, counter-intelligence investigations and security surveys.
After twenty years of military service, Jack joined the Clark County District Attorneys office as a Special Investigator of "white collar" and conspiratorial crimes. He participated in two "Sting" operations as a support officer. He then joined the Nevada State Gaming Control Board (GCB) as an Enforcement Agent. For eleven years, he conducted investigations regarding Casinos, their games, the players and employees. He originated and conducted several portions of a 120-hour training course for new GCB agents. He conducted training classes and seminars for federal gaming jurisdictions, and other state gaming jurisdictions as well as local law enforcement agencies. Jack was used by Nevada State and Federal Courts as an Expert witness during trials of gambling cheats. After State retirement, he continued as a Casino Security Consultant. He prepared an initial security and surveillance system for several new casinos in the United States and the Caribbean and provided security and surveillance training to these locations. As a consultant he conducted training for Iowa and Illinois State Police Officers to prepare them for their Riverboat Casino duties. He was under contract to Princess Cruise Line's gaming operations for security consultation, and spent four years as a Nevada Casino games observer.
Jack was a security and safety consultant to the US Army Military Traffic Management Command that required an active National Agency Check with the appropriate Security Clearance.
Presently he is retired, however not being one to sit and watch grass grow, he wrote a novel titled “Cold War Warrior”, published as a self-published novel. Traditional publisher, Publish America published his second novel under the title, “All Crooks welcome.” His third novel titled “The Master Cheat!” is also self-published and recently was converted to a screenplay. His novel “Cold War Defector” is a sequel to Cold War Warrior. Soon to be released will be his newest titled “The Medal.”
He has performed as a panelist several times at the Clark County library for their Meet the Author series. He planned, organized and presented a civic educational series of presentations titled “So you want to write a book,” a series of presentations for aspiring authors.
