Jean Sidney began selling her freelance writing in 1972: Slice of Life short stories and articles for the medical office workplace.
Retiring in 1990 from a thirty-year career in medicine she and her new husband Arne left California and fled to the red rock country of Sedona, Arizona where they pursued a forbidden Alternative/Holistic approach to treating Arne’s cancer. She resumed her writing in 1994 with her debut book Dance Interrupted, a Memoir of their adventures into holistic/alternative therapies.
Still in Sedona, she met Sam Joy/Story Teller in 1995. As they talked of Sam's idea for a story about the Spear of Longinus a collaboration was formed and a fast moving adventure about the nineteen nineties and the war in Bosnia began to evolve until at last, Jason Edwards and Legend Of The Spear was created.
The manuscript languished for a number of years until, in 2003 Jean moved to Eastern Washington and began to re-write a large portion of it. It was published in 2005.
Sam still resides in Sedona where he golfs and writes.
Jean now lives in Eastern Washington where she is working on her third novel, enjoying her grandchildren and gardens and kayaks when the snow has gone.
