Marina Handwerk wrote Hey Cool, I've Never Seen a Teacher With His Head Cut Off Before! when she was fifteen, based on a mystery she made up for her friend to solve and inspired in part by some of the teachers she had in middle school. She currently writes fantasy short stories and is a student at UC Berkeley.
